When you select a place to live just because that is where you want to be people are often curious as to why. No jobs brought us here and no children or parents compelled us to be here. We are simply here because it is exactly the type of place both my husband and I have imagined as an ideal home. We each had our separate dreams and desires but they all added up to being near water. For us Lake Anna was the perfect choice. We loved the location, the peacefulness, the rural character of the surrounding area, and definitely the size and beauty of Lake Anna. We have called Lake Anna home now for fifteen years. This is the longest I have ever lived in one spot in my entire life. I cannot think of a better place. Even when not on the water, just looking out my window or driving across one of the several bridges around the lake, catching a glimpse of water soothes me. Lake Anna has certainly lived up to our expectations. Driving around the lake and seeing horses, cattle, and farm country reinforces the feeling of stepping back in time to a quieter more wholesome way of living. I carry a camera with me almost every where I go as you can see from the pictures on my home page. You never know when you're going to come upon a mailbox out near the road that really shows creativity or you see some flowers growing that take your breath away or perhaps its seeing rolls of hay stacked at the edge of the field with dark green trees providing a beautiful backdrop. Barns in jeopardy of falling down at any moment, rusted farm equipment, people out tubing or water skiing on Lake Anna, sunsets, sunrises, tree lines brilliant with autumn leaves reflected in the lake are just some of the things that catch my eye and add to my feeling of being in the right place at the right time. Lake Anna is home for these and many other wonderful reasons. |
